The Data Solutions & Initiatives (DSI) team supports Apple's business leaders as they project, manage, and report on business performance. We do this by driving vast improvements for our customers, experiences that delight, platforms that scale to meet the demands of the business, tools that provide crucial productivity and insights.
Description
This is a software engineering tech lead role. You will collaborate closely day-to-day with engineers, users and business leaders to plan, design, build and deliver high-quality, scalable and resilient cloud-based software solutions that enable enriched and intelligent data exploration, analytics and reporting.","responsibilities":"Lead system architecture and delivery of resilient, scalable and complex software solutions meeting business needs in a timely and cost-efficient manner
Develop robust full-stack solutions with meticulous attention to quality and maintainability; Foster thoughtful innovation and experiment with better approaches while maintaining high standards
Partner with product, leadership and other cross-functional partners to define technical strategy and direction; Lead technical discussions that build shared understanding and drive alignment on priorities and trade-offs
Own technical strategy and delivery across the full development lifecycle; Ensure solutions deliver on functional and non-functional commitments
Debug production issue, performing root cause analysis and ensuring timely followups on short-term and long-term solutions
Mentor and coach engineers at various levels in system design thinking, problem solving and best practices; foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, innovation, and continuous learning
Drive technical exploration of promising technologies and approaches; Build proofs of concept to validate ideas and present learnings across engineering team to build collective knowledge and make informed recommendations
Lead long-term technical vision and roadmap; Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, and drive large efforts to reduce technical debt
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
Proven track record of architecting and developing distributed systems leveraging big data technologies with long-term viability
Proven hands-on experience in rapid system scaling, performance and resilience testing
Deep working knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms
Familiarity with data modeling and machine learning algorithms
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with impeccable analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven track record of leading cross-functional technical projects and planning roadmap in which near-term initiatives ladder to long-term mission
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and one compiled language, e.g. Java, Go, Scala
Familiarity with systems architecture, distributed systems and big data technologies
Knowledge of infrastructure, various data stores and caches
Experience in conveying technical concepts effectively and building shared understanding across engineering, product and leadership teams
Ability to guide teams through iterative planning, execution, and delivery processes
Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and software design principles; Desire for continuous learning
Demonstrated history of continuous technical growth and comfort mastering new areas and technologies

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
