Description
As an engineer on our team, you will iterate quickly to create, maintain, and improve apps and backend services that empower the day-to-day work of tens of thousands of Apple employees. We obsess over the user experience. We strongly value creative problem-solving and continuous improvement. In this role, you will:
Collaboratively design and implement services and systems that sit directly in active engineering workflows
Work through ambiguous requirements and make thoughtful architectural decisions
* Investigate and improve systems in production, improving reliability, performance, and overall engineering quality
Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, comfort operating in production environments, and the ability to communicate clearly while collaborating closely with internal users, cross-functional partners, and engineering leaders across Apple.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Kubernetes, continuous integration systems, Unix environments, and relational or NoSQL databases (or similar technologies)
Solid software engineering fundamentals including architecture and OO-design patterns and functional programming
Can create roadmaps and drive product vision by prioritizing excellent user experience
Passion for quality and attention to detail
Creative thinker and strong problem solver
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience leveraging LLM based tools for developing and testing code
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience building backend services in one or more modern programming languages (Ruby, Python, Swift, etc.)
Recent hands-on experience writing, deploying and maintaining production code
Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design and writing maintainable, testable code

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
