The most important story about any Apple application is data. As a Software Engineer of AiDP data services team, you will work on building database managed services and data streaming platform that power some of Apple's most critical business use cases. You will collaborate with exceptional database engineering teams and internal stakeholders in building these solutions.
AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) is IS&T's engine for AI-powered innovation. The team brings together data, application development, and machine learning - including generative AI - along with data services and customer success functions, to help IS&T build solutions more efficiently and streamline the adoption and embedding of generative AI across Apple.
Description
We are looking for a passionate software engineer with experience in building cloud based data engineering solutions. We expect the candidate to influence platform tools, APIs and architecture. This role requires strong collaboration with internal teams to deliver a best in class product in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
Cloud solutions: Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and data engineering services
Develop services: Design and implement microservices and APIs, from system design through production deployment and operations
Collaboration: Collaborate with a team of database engineers and architects to develop the services
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with REST or gRPC API development
Knowledge in multi-threading, concurrency and parallelism
Able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of software development experience with Python/Go
Hands on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP or AliCloud
Experience with databases such as MongoDB or PostgreSQL in production environments
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related work experience
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
