Senior Security Software Engineer
We are the Apple Service Engineering (ASE) Security team. We are the team that secures the systems and infrastructure that fuel Apple's services (such as iCloud, Apple Music, Apple Fitness, and Apple TV). We are the foundation on which Apple's software developers build the products that our customers love. Our team is expanding and we are looking for a Staff Software Security Engineer to create next-generation security tools and services that safeguard Apple's ecosystem.
Description
This is a highly collaborative role where you will be working with teams across the Security and Engineering organizations to provide meaningful solutions to everyday problems. You'll spend 50% of your time hands-on coding while also architecting complex systems, mentoring engineers, and driving technical initiatives across the organization.","responsibilities":"Architect and build distributed systems that scale to support Apple's development ecosystem
Lead technical initiatives from design through delivery, setting technical direction
Write high-quality, performant code to solve real-world security problems
Mentor and guide engineers & stakeholders through technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions
Collaborate with Apple Information Security, embedded security teams, and engineering teams across Apple to deliver integrated solutions
Balance hands-on development with technical leadership responsibilities
Drive initiatives that improve security tooling, vulnerability management, and supply chain security
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AI powered coding tools and LLM assisted development workflows
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of work experience in software or software security engineering
Experience architecting complex, distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and leading technical initiatives
Experience with third party cloud platforms and operating services in a hybrid cloud environment
Highly proficient in Java or Go

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $302,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
