Senior Privacy Engineer, Privacy Engineering

The Privacy Engineering team works with teams all across the company to make sure that products and services protect user privacy by designing architectures that reduce the exposure of user data at all levels of the technology stack. We are looking for an outstanding candidate to become a member of the Apple User Privacy Team.
Description
We are seeking an experienced engineer to provide privacy guidance to teams across Apple, with a particular focus on our advertising platforms. This includes feature reviews and the design of new, privacy-preserving data collection, ad selection, and measurement methodologies that allow Apple and advertisers to understand and improve campaign performance without compromising user privacy. It also includes guiding the roadmap of privacy-enhancing technologies used in ads attribution and optimization, such as differential privacy, on-device aggregation, multi-party computation, and privacy-preserving ad measurement protocols.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
Review features across our Ads platforms to identify privacy exposures and partner with teams to design mitigations.
Lead privacy reviews for ad serving, measurement, and attribution systems, evaluating how conversion and performance data is collected, aggregated, and reported, and advocating for user privacy protections.
Audit new products to identify bugs in development, and review customer data collected by engineering teams to drive decisions for privacy impact.
Communicate privacy risks and potential mitigations to senior leadership to drive decisions, collaborating closely with partners in Legal and Product Marketing.
Guide the development of ads attribution and measurement systems that preserve user privacy, applying techniques such as data minimization, differential privacy, aggregated/on-device reporting, and private set intersection.
Partner with engineers across Ads, SWE, and AIML to develop our roadmap for privacy-enhancing technologies, and advise engineers and leaders on the right privacy technology to use when building new advertising and attribution features.
Review data collection requests and systems that enable product and advertiser insight while preserving privacy.
Ensure Apple's products and services are designed to protect privacy as a fundamental human right.
Successful candidates will need to have superb communication skills and a passion for protecting privacy. Creative problem solving, analytical, and deductive reasoning skills are critical for this position. You will be working on multiple unrelated systems each week, so the ability to learn quickly and an excitement for new things is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
Passion for customer privacy
Strong collaboration, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to learn and research new technologies rapidly, assess privacy exposures, and suggest mitigations
Ability to analyze systems' architectures for privacy impact
Ability to solve complex problems independently
Familiarity with industry attribution standards and privacy-preserving ad measurement approaches (e.g., aggregated event measurement, on-device attribution)
Knowledgeable about Apple's privacy pillars(https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2021/10085/)& AdAttributionKit and SKAdNetwork frameworks
Minimum Qualifications
BSCS or equivalent experience
Experience conducting privacy reviews for advertising, measurement, or attribution systems
Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies relevant to ads attribution, such as differential privacy, private/aggregated measurement, or private set intersection
Programming experience

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
