Senior Manager, Quality Engineering Xcode

Yesterday Cupertino, CA

Do you want to shape how quality is defined, measured, and delivered for the Xcode family of tools - one of the most important developer tools ecosystems in the world? Join the Xcode team to lead our Quality Engineering organization, and be an integral part of making our products better, ultimately enhancing developer productivity and satisfaction. You'll work closely with product engineering, design, product marketing, and senior leaders to drive up Xcode's quality.

Description

As Senior Quality Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the overall effectiveness, impact, and evolution of Xcode's Quality Engineering organization. You'll lead a team of experienced engineers, guiding both day-to-day execution and longer-term transformation of how quality work is planned, performed, and well supported across the organization.

You'll partner closely with engineering leaders to identify what quality matters most for our developers, what investments will provide the greatest return, and where we can take intentional, data-informed risks. This includes rethinking existing practices, enhancing our automation strategy, and simplifying or retiring work that no longer serves its purpose.

A successful candidate brings strong judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to move fluidly between strategy and execution. You'll be expected to assess complex situations, balance competing priorities, and make decisions that optimize for long-term outcomes, not just short-term completeness. You'll be accountable not just for how quality work is done, but for the outcomes it produces for developers. Critically, you'll be an excellent communicator in all directions - to your team, to your peers, and to senior leadership.
