The Personal Search Intelligence team develops and ships privacy-respecting, cutting-edge AI features for Apple Intelligence, delivering exceptional experiences to hundreds of millions of users worldwide. We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in Cupertino and be part of this mission.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be working on ideating, developing and evaluating privacy preserving machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI algorithms for Apple Intelligence personal search features. Candidates should have a proven track record that demonstrates a deep understanding of AIML technologies, agentic workflow evaluations, a passion for designing and developing high-quality software, strong collaboration, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience with evaluation data and frameworks
Extensive experience with personal search
Experience with large vision-language and multi-modal foundation models
Minimum Qualifications
Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
Strong machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
Hands on experience with large language models (LLMs), prompt optimization, and fine tuning of LLMs
Hands on experience with automated evaluation frameworks for agentic workflows
Strong programming and software engineering experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, C, C++, Swift
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
