Senior Business Intelligence Developer
At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Bring passion and dedication to your job and there's no telling what you could accomplish.
The Central Marketing Insights team within Apple Services partners with marketing teams across Apple's full portfolio of services to help them understand what's working across paid media channels - and why. Our analytics and visualization function, VizOps, is the team responsible for building and operating the dashboards and data tools that make those insights accessible. We own the full lifecycle: intake, design, development, QA, and maintenance - and we hold a high bar for craft, grounded in the principles of clear, honest information design.
In this role, you will be a senior developer on the team - building our most important data products, elevating the quality of the work through your example and expertise, and serving as a confident, credible presence in front of the stakeholders who depend on what we build.
Description
This is a senior, hands-on development role. You will own the design and build of some of the team's most complex and highest-visibility dashboards, while helping raise the quality of the work across the team through the standards you model and the guidance you share.
The dashboards in this portfolio surface analytics for internal marketing technology platforms - tools that manage and evaluate paid marketing campaigns across Apple's services. They are used daily by program managers, marketing engineers, and analysts who depend on them for operational and strategic decisions. You will help set the bar for how these products look, perform, and communicate.
A significant part of this role is stakeholder-facing. You will lead intake conversations, present work in reviews, explain analytical and design decisions to non-technical audiences, and represent the team's craft with clarity and confidence. When a stakeholder needs to understand what the data says - or why a dashboard was built the way it was - you are someone who can carry that conversation.
As a senior member of a small team, you will also help others grow. You will share technical approaches, offer guidance on development and design choices, and contribute to the standards that keep our work consistent and high quality. You do not manage people, but your expertise makes the whole team better.
Data quality is foundational to everything we build. You will investigate discrepancies and anomalies in multi-source data pipelines, trace issues to their root cause, and ensure the metrics stakeholders rely on are trustworthy.
AI-powered tools are part of how this team works, and you are expected to use them fluently in your own workflow to move faster and work smarter. The team is actively expanding its use of AI and automation, and your fluency and ideas will contribute to a practice we are proud to lead within our organization.

Use AI-powered tools fluently to accelerate development, analysis, and documentation
Maintain clear documentation for the dashboards you own: purpose, data sources, business logic, and change history
Contribute to the team's QA processes, helping ensure data issues are caught proactively before reaching stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field - such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline - or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with paid media data - campaign performance metrics, marketing measurement, or attribution - in an analytics or data operations context
Experience sharing technical expertise with or mentoring other analysts or developers
A demonstrated point of view on information design and data visualization best practices (for example, familiarity with the principles of Edward Tufte or comparable frameworks)
