Do you want to help deliver the next amazing Apple product? The Apple Watch Intelligent System Experience team is seeking a Screening, Integration & AI Tools Engineer to screen and prioritize incoming bugs, integrate complex software changes into watchOS, and develop AI and automation tools that scale the team's impact. This role offers the opportunity to bring a software engineering approach to screening and integration while building the skills for long-term growth in software development.

Description

In this role, you will triage incoming bugs, analyze logs, and prioritize issues for key components of watchOS. You will use large language models and other AI tools to quickly identify the most important bug reports filed by Apple employees and external developers, and pinpoint root causes and regression points to speed up the bug fix lifecycle. You will drive our day-to-day process around bug and source code management, integrate complex software changes into watchOS, and design and build agentic tools and automation that help the team work more efficiently. We are looking for an enthusiastic, curious, and technically savvy engineer who can juggle a variety of tasks and is eager to grow their software engineering skills.

Responsibilities:

Triage incoming bugs using logs, crash reports, and diagnostics to identify root causes and regression points, then route each issue to the right owner with a clear priority

Track trends and capacity in the incoming bug queue, and flag emerging issues to engineering leadership

Maintain source code repositories, including branching for releases and tagging changes to the watchOS build process

Build and maintain continuous integration and automated test pipelines, review their results, and escalate regressions

Design, build, and deploy AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows, using LLMs, skills, and MCP, that summarize and route bugs, find regressions, and reduce manual work

Deliver high-quality tools, services, and dashboards that engineering teams depend on

Evaluate the accuracy and impact of AI tools with metrics and feedback, and improve them based on the results

Preferred Qualifications

Experience building LLM-powered tools or agents (for example, with the Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK, or MCP servers), including prompt design and evaluation

Experience with Xcode, Instruments, Swift, SwiftUI, or Objective-C

Experience debugging software issues

Experience with data analytics and understanding large data sets

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Familiarity with Apple operating systems, especially watchOS and iOS, and with consumer-facing software development processes
