Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop and optimize RF automation system for connectivity technologies on WiFi / Bluetooth / UWB for Apple Latest Products including Home, iPad and Audio from R&D to mass production phases. Develop calibration algorithms at both conducted and radiated level including RF front-end related to filters, tank circuit modeling, amplifiers, LNAs and antennas. Implement test algorithms to measure key RF metrics including Tx Power, Rx Gain calibration, and Group delay, TRP. Engage in the design validation for different wireless technologies right from the prototyping phase to mass production. Design calibration routines and test algorithms and contributing to a multi-faceted test software suite. Develop software apps and drivers for Apple platforms to support feature prototyping. Support manufacturing build overseas during new product introduction phases. Collaborate with chipset manufacturers, test equipment vendors as well as our in-house antenna and RFHW design teams to analyze wireless performance data and tackle the technical challenges it takes to deploy groundbreaking wireless features with impeccable quality. International and domestic travel required 15%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $195,357 - $272,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:

WiFi System Knowledge to analyze, design, and troubleshoot WiFi subsystems.

Bluetooth System Knowledge to analyze, design, and troubleshoot Bluetooth subsystems.

RF Fundamentals to analyze and troubleshoot RF related issues at Product Level

RF Test Equipment Knowledge to develop measurement system to characterize RF behavior.

Wireless Communication to develop system validation bench including rate vs range or Bluetooth audio quality assessment.

Signal Processing to develop the RF calibration algorithm

Microwave Theory to analyze and troubleshoot hardware and radio impairment issues.

Antenna Theory to develop OTA (Over-the-air) testing system to evaluate RF (radio frequency) antenna design and performance at product level

Wireless System Simulation to conduct the analysis of the wireless hardware behaviors at concept phase
