Quality Automation Engineer, Rights & Pricing- Partner Onboarding Business
The Rights & Pricing engineering team provides the Apple Services platform for distribution rights by country, calculation and management of prices including retail, offers, wholesale, and tax. Rights & Pricing also includes Partner Onboarding which encompasses the vendor application process, signing of digital contracts, collection of bank account and tax information, and business systems that manage the presentation layers of payments, invoicing, and financial reporting.
Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on QA Automation Engineer who is passionate about building scalable automation frameworks, improving product quality, and leveraging AI to accelerate testing. This role requires strong coding skills, deep understanding of test automation, and the ability to work closely with engineering and product teams to enable a shift-left, automation-first quality strategy. Provides IC leadership by shaping automation standards and driving cross-functional quality decisions","responsibilities":"Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI and API automation frameworks with reliable, reusable test suites using modern tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, REST clients) and clean code in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and advocate for shift-left testing, including pre-merge validation and automation gating
Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, regression, and integration layers, including test data strategies for complex systems
Debug failures, improve test stability and flakiness, and optimize test execution performance
Contribute to test infrastructure, shared libraries, and utilities while reviewing automation and product code to uphold quality standards
Leverage AI tools (e.g., LLMs, code assistants, test generators) to accelerate test creation, improve coverage, automate defect detection, and drive innovation in quality engineering

Partner with Product and Engineering early in the development lifecycle to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
Drive quality best practices and take end-to-end ownership of quality for features and services
Work across multiple environments and integrations to ensure end-to-end validation in close partnership with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, DevOps)
Provide clear status, risks, and quality insights to stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AI/ML tools for testing (LLMs, code generation, test optimization)
Experience in distributed systems / integration testing
Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes)
Experience with performance or security testing is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
5-8+ years of experience in QA Automation / Software Quality Engineering
Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java
Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress)
Experience with API testing (REST, JSON, Postman, etc.)
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
