Product Manager - Finance Transformation, Data

Yesterday Cupertino, CA

Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Bring passion and dedication to your job and there's no telling what we could accomplish.

The Finance Transformation team is evolving from a project-centric delivery model to a product-led mindset, ensuring our internal tools are as intuitive and innovative as the products Apple sells. We are looking for a Product Manager who thrives at the intersection of business needs and technical solutions.

As a Data Product Manager within Apple's Finance organization, you will own the strategy, definition, and delivery of Finance Data Products - the curated, governed, high-quality data assets that power everything from internal reporting and audit compliance to AI-driven forecasting and intelligent business operations.

Description

We are looking for a Data Product Manager who combines strong product thinking with a solid engineering foundation to build and scale high-impact data products for Finance.

This role sits at the intersection of finance, data engineering, and analytics. You will define and drive the vision, roadmap, and delivery of finance data products that are reliable, governed, and aligned to business outcomes. You will work closely with finance stakeholders (FP&A, controllership, treasury), data engineers, architects, and governance teams to ensure data products are not only well-designed but also successfully adopted.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing financial metrics with business leaders and diving into technical discussions around data modeling, transformation pipelines, semantic layers, and metadata platforms.

This is an emerging function at Apple, which means you will have the rare opportunity to define what it means to be a Data Product Manager in one of the most complex Finance environments in the world - setting standards, influencing architecture, and building a practice that scales across the organization.","responsibilities":"You will define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for finance data products aligned with business priorities such as close acceleration, forecast accuracy, and regulatory reporting. You will identify and prioritize use cases based on value, risk, and feasibility, establish clear product definitions including consumers, SLAs, and success metrics, and own the lifecycle of data products from ideation through adoption and eventual deprecation.

You will partner closely with finance stakeholders across FP&A, accounting, treasury, and tax to understand business processes and data needs. You will translate financial concepts such as revenue recognition, cost allocations, and hierarchies into scalable, governed data models while ensuring alignment with financial controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards including SOX and GAAP/IFRS.

You will collaborate with architects and engineers to design canonical data models, define data contracts, and establish semantic layers that standardize key financial metrics and dimensions. You will ensure consistency and interoperability of data products across platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks, and define how curated data is exposed through transformation layers like dbt and semantic tools such as Cube or AtScale.

You will work closely with data engineering teams to translate product requirements into technical specifications and deliverables. You will participate in agile processes including backlog prioritization and sprint planning, and ensure that data pipelines and transformations are scalable, performant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards within modern data stacks.

You will define and enforce data quality rules, validation checks, and certification tiers to ensure trust in finance data products. You will partner with governance teams using tools such as DataHub or Collibra to enable metadata management, lineage tracking, and discoverability, while ensuring data products are well-documented, monitored, and compliant with governance standards.
