The Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the sequencing, prioritization, and capacity planning processes for Apple Retail Stores across the globe. This position synthesizes inputs from multiple global business partners to architect a cohesive quarterly and annual plan of record - owning end-to-end intake operations, field capacity planning, and Area of Responsibility (AOR) planning to ensure every store, role, and AOR has a precise and actionable plan that reflects real operating conditions on the ground.
Own the design and governance of an integrated Plan of Record spanning 1K+ initiatives and 800+ global business partners, ensuring sequencing precision, dependency management, and milestone visibility at every level of the organization. Lead intake operations - serving as the primary point of contact for new submissions, facilitating global intake review meetings, and ensuring key decisions and actions are captured and executed.
Drive field execution precision by architecting workload sizing and sequencing strategies for POR initiative deployment - partnering with PPO scheduling teams across all Geos to ensure task plans reach the field at the right moment, with the right data, to deliver with impact. Preferred Qualifications
Strong business acumen and ability to understand all aspects of retail store execution (e.g., people, customer experience, training, merchandising, operations).
Firsthand familiarity with AOR responsibilities - including Product Zone, Genius Bar, Today at Apple, and Merchandising - and the operational complexity these roles bring to store planning.
Passionate problem solver who drives continuous process innovation by exploring and integrating emerging technologies, automation, and AI.
Exceptional influencer who connects dots between teams, builds alignment, and drives results.
Natural relationship builder who earns trust quickly, fosters genuine connections, and builds strong networks across functions, geographies, and organizational levels.
Experience working in a large matrixed organization, ideally within technology or premium retail.
Minimum Qualifications
12+ years of experience in retail operations, or program management.
Deep understanding of the retail industry, store operations, and omnichannel commerce trends.
Experience in strategic planning, program management, or retail business operations.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and alignment without direct authority.
Excellent communicator who can present complex plans simply and persuasively.
Strong ability to synthesize complex information, identify key insights, and distinguish signal from noise.","internalDetails":null
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $137,900 and $263,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
