The Places Logistics team is a highly motivated, fast-paced, dynamic organization that is responsible for logistics operations in the Americas region and worldwide. The team operates in a highly cross-functional environment with both internal and external partners to help bring Apple Stores and Apple Products to life. The team is looking for a logistics professional with proven experience in project management to support the construction, preservation and operations of Apple Stores worldwide that meet key financial, service and schedule targets while following compliance guidelines.

Description

The Places Logistics Manager will work cross-functionally with Visual Merchandising, Marcom, Development, Facilities, and other teams throughout Apple to manage logistics operations for store development and new product introductions. The position requires collaboration, attention to detail, and a relentless pursuit toward flawless execution. ","responsibilities":"Develop, influence and execute project logistics plans for store builds and fleet-wide rollouts

Forecast, analyze and meet cost, schedule & compliance requirements

Carrier performance in planning & execution of project deliverables

Freight cost management, audit, benchmarking and rate negotiations

Manage global logistic roll outs to meet project schedule and cost targets

Publish, maintain and enforce the vendor route guide

Inspect and audit project sites and warehouses for readiness and compliance to Apple requirements

Develop operational plans to support pilots and project roll outs from select stores to entire fleet

Create project scope documents to be used in the Logistics bidding process

Onboard new vendors for logistics

Develop and enforce standards, guidelines and policies for packaging, documentation, communications, reporting, etc.

Conduct RFP/RFQ activities to support projects and ongoing operations

Select and manage carriers' performance to set goals and objectives

Administer carrier contracts and rate agreements

Review material vendor agreements for best practices in incoterms, logistics

Develop and implement innovative solutions for special projects

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading global logistic roll outs to meet project schedule and cost targets

Experience creating project scope documents to be used in the Logistics bidding process

Understanding of freight cost audit and payment

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years logistics industry experience

Excellent communication, organizational, cross functional/collaborative, and analytical skills

Strong Project Management experience

Must be able to travel, and support teams in multiple time-zones

Experience with the following technical competence: Multi-modal, domestic/international/local transportation, warehouse operations, understanding of incoterms, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Dangerous Goods, export/import requirements
