Places IT Program Manager

As part of our Places Construction team, you'll play a significant role in transforming spaces into functional corporate offices, labs and specialty environments. We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Network Infrastructure Program Manager to partner with our cross functional Places teams and our IS&T organization. This role requires a unique blend of skills-the ability to implement critical network planning and implementation with meticulous attention to detail, deep technical expertise, and strong project management discipline. As the Places IT Program Manager for all of Apple America's you will manage a team of network and audio visual professionals across the entire landscape of buildings.
Description
In this role, you will be the key point of contact for providing strategic leadership and oversight for all enterprise-level IT infrastructure Construction projects, with a focus on structured cabling systems. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives on coordinating with a diverse group of stakeholders-including executive leadership, internal cross-functional partners, architects, engineers, and general contractors-to deliver inspiring and functional spaces on time and within budget. This management-focused role involves directing the planning, execution, and delivery of Layer 1 infrastructure projects, including Main Distribution Frames (MDFs), Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDFs), and server rooms, while ensuring alignment with mechanical, electrical, and IT requirements.
","responsibilities":"Strategic Project Leadership: Define project vision, objectives, and success criteria for Layer 1 cabling infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organizational IT and business goals.
Project Planning and Oversight: Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, for enterprise-level IT infrastructure initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including IT leadership, facilities management, vendors, and contractors, to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment of project deliverables.
Team Management: Lead and manage a team of audio visual and IT project managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Mechanical and Electrical Integration: Oversee coordination with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure MDFs, IDFs, and server rooms meet power, cooling, and spatial requirements, including rack layouts, grounding, and environmental controls.
Vendor and Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and service providers, ensuring timely procurement of materials and services while optimizing costs.
Risk and Quality Management: Identify and mitigate project risks related to cabling infrastructure, mechanical, or electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) and organizational policies.
Resource Management: Monitor project request flow and allocate resources efficiently, and implement cost-control measures to maximize project efficiency.
Reporting and Documentation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of project documentation, including high-level through detailed designs, standards compliance reviews, and status updates for construction partners and stakeholders.
Technology Alignment: Ensure cabling infrastructure supports current and future IT requirements, including high-speed data transmission, and emerging technologies, through strategic planning and consultation with IT teams and business unit representatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, PMI frameworks, or equivalent)
Leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on motivating and aligning diverse teams
Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders

Build and manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional partners to drive alignment on project deliverables
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex project challenges and deliver results under tight deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 10+ years of project management experience, construction or IT integration management or similar
4+ years in a leadership role overseeing IT infrastructure or cabling projects at an enterprise level
Experience applying structured cabling standards, including TIA/EIA-568, ISO/IEC 11801, and BICSI, to enterprise IT infrastructure projects
Experience with mechanical and electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS, HVAC, and grounding for data centers
Experience with Audio Visual systems and technology in a corporate office setting
Able to occasionally travel (5-10%) to project sites for oversight and stakeholder meetings

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $182,500 and $274,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
