We are looking for a motivated engineer to join us to shape the future of media intelligence. The team develops cutting edge technologies and systems that enable intelligent media experiences across Apple's product line, including applications like Photos, FaceTime, Camera, etc., as well as system wide features. You will work closely with a group of experts to architect and deliver solutions that will have a huge impact across our platforms.
Description
As a software engineer in this role, you will be responsible for contributing to design and architecture, prototyping and developing new features, profiling and optimizing performance, implementing tools & testing. We're looking for a teammate with proven success in delivering technologies. You will be a critical part of a diverse team, and will thrive in a high energy, time constrained, multitasking environment.","responsibilities":"Design and implement software systems focused on ML/CV media processing. This development covers a wide range of the software stack, including low-level media processing pipelines, system level frameworks and API interfaces, as well daemons & applications, and the inter-process communication between them
Profile and analyze software and system performance, using a suite of tools to evaluate processing speed, memory footprint, and power impact
Optimize software performance, using concepts like multi-threading & concurrency, hardware acceleration, and SIMD instructions
Peer review of software design and code deliverables from his teammates
Triage, investigate and debug software issues
Software test development, including the implementation of unit tests, tools for integration and system level testing, test automation, and integration of testing into continuous integration systems

Preferred Qualifications
Software optimization experience, leveraging SIMD, GPU or hardware acceleration
Experience with media processing systems (image, video or audio processing)
Experience with systems applying machine learning / computer vision
Experience in continuous integration and test automation
Minimum Qualifications
Software development experience in one of the following: C, C++, Objective C
A deep understanding of multithreaded programming
Strong analytical, programming and debugging skills","internalDetails":null
