Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Manage and lead a team of quality engineers, working on supporting and planning their professional and career development within the organization. Act as the face of quality for a program, work cross functionally to compile status and phase gate updates, and provide regular updates to the senior leadership team (VP+). Work with cross functional leaders to define strategies and tactics to ensure new product development is on track to meet key program indicators. Partner with multi-functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase. Lead the development of measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at massive production scale. Develop and implement cutting edge quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics. Lead overall quality activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yields. Work with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product. Coordinate all Quality Engineering functions for a program, serving as project manager to lead efforts at supplier locations. Establish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure consistency to Apple quality standards. Evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes. Manage the development of corrective actions multi-functionally with internal and external team members. 30% International Travel Required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $196,200 - $295,000/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Nanotechnology Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:

Leading project from NPI and concept phases to mass production

Leading collaboration between leaders of cross functional organizations

Performing metrology development from R&D through scaling and commissioning

Performing failure analysis of mechanical modules that can include mechanical, electrical and chemical sources of failure

Conducting factory yield and operations bring-up

Generating functional and technical specifications

Presenting data and conclusions of large data sets using data analytics and visualization

Estimating production yields and capex requirements

Developing products with international OEM partners

Utilizing people management skills to manage and mentor a team of diverse quality engineers
