Description
In this highly visible role you will lead a team responsible for taking products from concept to mass production for Apple's iPad products. You'll use your demonstrated tenacity and curiosity to solve seemingly impossible problems managing full life cycle NPI programs. Your team will be directly responsible for innovation, selection, and implementation of high volume manufacturing processes in a global supply chain.

Own creation of the entire manufacturing process, from raw material to final assembly, with a dedication to focus where needed to enable program success even if outside your area of expertise
Engage early with Industrial/Product Design and Vendors to provide DFM/DFA feedback to enable the most innovative designs on the market. Identify needed innovations and develop accordingly to enable the product vision
Develop innovative solutions that enable Apple's long term Environmental and Product goals, including but not limited to sustainable manufacturing, LCA tracking / Co2 reduction, and closed-loop manufacturing life cycle
Resolve, define, and organize tasks for your team to ensure your team is executing on the correct issues to enable on quality, on time, and in budget launches. Emphasis on continued team development to continually increase team capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluent in English, Mandarin skills a bonus
Proven track record of developing scalable manufacturing processes for plastics and metals in the consumer electronics industry or equivalent
Experience in tool/fixture design - automation experience a plus
Demonstrated ability to design structured DOEs and use statistical/data analysis tools to make data driven decisions
Ability and willingness to work independently and travel (domestic + international) frequently
Proven leader, with ability to distill ambiguous situations to set clear objectives for your team and to be nimble when presented with new information
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years engineering work experience, including 5+ years as a direct people Manager.
Bachelors degree or above in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
