Description
You will be managing a small team of talented UIFramework engineers. You and your team will be responsible for some key areas of UIKit and related UI frameworks. Your team will be developing new features and fixing regressions across multiple platforms and releases. You will be involved in feature work and team planning and will also be expected to do some hands-on development. You will work with SPE leadership and the program management team to ensure that your work makes it into the build with a high level of quality. You will keep an eye on system maintainability and performance. You will help create testing tools and procedures that contribute to this endeavor. You will also be a steward of the new APIs and SPIs that are developed. Finally, you will be expected to work closely with HI on new designs that are being developed from release to release.

UIKit powers nearly every interface you see on iPhone and iPad - from touch and event handling to animation, text, layout, and high-level components like UICollectionView, UIHostingConfiguration, and UIGestureRecognizer. As part of the UIKit team, you'll collaborate closely with Human Interface designers and partner frameworks, and help deliver the next generation of UI technologies. You'll work side by side with internal teams to create APIs that inspire developers and power incredible experiences. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Background in framework-level rather than application-level development
Knowledge of UIKit on other platforms (e.g. visionOS, Catalyst, CarPlay)
Management Experience
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on UIKit or SwiftUI development experience on iOS
Strong proficiency in Swift (Objective-C familiarity a plus)
Desire to leverage your skills and experience to manage and direct a team of strong engineers
Clear communication and collaborative problem-solving skills
Solid understanding of software development workflows and practices
Solid understanding of debugging, profiling, and performance optimization
