We're seeking an Engineering Leader for the ASE Accessibility team to drive a global strategy to ensure our products and features are accessible for everyone. A successful candidate for this role will be an experienced leader deeply knowledgeable and passionate about the current assistive technology features across all of Apple's platforms and ecosystems. This role includes (but is not limited to) advocacy, software QA engineer, and accessible design understanding and expertise.

Description

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of Quality Engineers who own the test planning, test writing, test execution, and result reporting for critical software features for upcoming software releases specific to Apple media products and services. You will be responsible for representing the customer experience for customers who require accommodations to interact with and to use Apple products.

To accomplish this, you will work directly with our project managers, cross functional partners, developers, and engineering teams to review upcoming projects, offer feedback and suggestions for accessibility improvements, and represent accessibility concerns in broader engineering discussions and bug reviews.

Execution-oriented leadership with strong attention to detail

Ability to balance technical depth with business understanding

Problem-solving mindset with a bias toward automation and scalability

Track record of hiring and developing engineering talent

Experience working on products with a global footprint and diverse customer needs

Minimum Qualifications

Over 5 year's successfully leading teams in Quality Assurance Engineering delivering software and services through the entire project lifecycle.

Over 5 years in quality assurance engineering, SDET, Engineering Project Management, or related roles

Versatile problem solver with a strong analytical mindset, adept at tackling challenges in complex environments through creative and critical thinking.

Skilled in deconstructing problems, resolving conflicts, and leading teams to innovative solutions.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and effectively communicate with executive leadership.

A familiarity with screen readers like VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA and Narrator

LANGUAGES: Swift, SwiftUI, Python, unit testing, git, Bash/Zsh

Experience with test automation frameworks and UI automation

Experience with manual end-to-end software integrity testing

Experience testing client UI

Passionate about equitable UI /UX for everyone

A comfortable understanding of WCAG guidelines and ARIA for accessible web experiences

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $198,300 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
