Manager, Budget Management - PD&M Operations

Apple's Product, Design & Marketing (PD&M) Operations team is seeking a Budget Manager to join the Budget Management Team. Here you'll be responsible for overseeing the management of the organization's budgeting process for our Services lines of businesses (LOBs) across multiple cross-functional teams. This position will own forecasting, monitoring budget performance, and providing operational and strategic support across a complex organization. Description

The Manager, Budget Management plays a pivotal role in optimizing and managing Marketing and Design budgets across Services LOBs. In this role, you will lead a team of budget analysts who provide both operational and strategic support, working closely with Finance, Marketing, and Design producers. The ideal candidate works autonomously but also collaborates closely with partners and demonstrates the ability to dive deep into the details and our processes while maintaining a strategic outlook to inform and drive sound decision making.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Operate with minimal direction, drawing on your expertise and critical thinking to drive results, make decisions independently, and lead a team

- Own the budgets and cross-functional relationships for LOBs and Functions while leading and optimizing associated processes

- Engage with, build relationships with, and communicate with multiple cross-functional stakeholders at various levels, including senior leaders

- Forecast, manage, and report on budgets, actual spend, and support fiscal planning for our cross-functional teams across multiple lines of business

- Analyze large sets of data to evaluate P&L actuals each quarter, identify variances, and deliver formal insights and recommendations on budgets to stakeholders at every level, including senior leaders

- Conduct thorough audits and reconciliations of large data sets, proactively identifying and addressing discrepancies

- Implement process improvements impacting multiple stakeholders with diverse and competing priorities - Document and train on processes for internal and partner teams

- Manage a small team of full-time employees and contractors

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant experience working on budgets or forecasting within a creative team

Intellectually curious and unafraid to challenge the status quo, with a passion to identify and root cause issues to find the best solution to a problem

Thrives in ambiguity and makes decisions with incomplete information while clearly articulating the rationale behind those decisions

Meticulously detail-oriented with a strong sense of when to apply high-level strategic thinking versus deep, accuracy-driven analysis

Possess strong analytical acumen, capable of distilling large and complex data sets into clear and concise insights.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft presentations that convey a compelling narrative

Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong relationships, influence, understand diverse perspectives and negotiate effectively with stakeholders

Operates autonomously with minimal supervision, proactively taking initiative to achieve impactful results

Strong aptitude for mastering new tools and comprehending the integration and interrelationship of diverse data points across multiple platforms

Experience with Numbers, Keynote, Pages

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 7 - 10+ years relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, or Budgeting with proven understanding of core finance and accounting principles, including accruals, P&Ls, forecasting, fiscal planning, budgeting and Procurement-to-Pay (P2P) processes

Experience analyzing, reconciling, and interpreting large, complex data sets to identify patterns, trends and insights using Excel

Business experience working in a creative and/ or marketing organization

2 years people management experience

Bachelors Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
