Description
We are looking for a talented engineer to tackle one of tech's most significant challenges: creating highly personalized and beneficial AI systems that prioritize privacy and compliance from the ground up. As an integral part of this mission, you will design and develop on-device machine learning solutions that not only enhance user experiences but also establish new benchmarks for trust and security in the industry.

Generative AI and Agentic Systems Proficiency: Experience with designing or developing Generative AI systems, e.g. autonomous agents.
Implementing legal and policy mandates from regulations like GDPR and CCPA into engineering specifications and systems.
Hands-on experience utilizing Core ML and applying on-device model optimization methods, including quantization and pruning.
Familiarity with technologies like Differential Privacy and Federated Learning.
Minimum Qualifications
BS or MS in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, preferably with a focus on machine learning or data privacy.
Minimum of 3 years in software engineering, with a demonstrated ability to release production-quality code.
Systems Programming Skills: Strong grasp of systems engineering principles, with proficiency in compiled languages such as C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift.
Practical ML Experience: Involvement in developing and deploying machine learning models within a production environment (on-device or server-side).
Dedication to Privacy: A keen interest in tackling user privacy challenges, safeguarding data, and addressing the engineering complexities of building dependable and secure systems.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
