Description
The Core Display Incubation team is looking for an Experience Prototyping engineer to join a team of multi-talented engineers building future-looking display prototypes. The Machine Learning Engineer consists of leveraging novel display technologies to build experience prototypes and help set the future direction of the Display Hardware organization.
Responsibilities:
Prototype new applications and experiences for emerging optics and display systems
Explore novel display applications and features through display module and sensor integration Driving cross-functional collaboration to understand algorithmic constraints, dependencies, and technical trade-offs

Leading technical discussions and preparing presentations, papers, and talks to communicate your inventions and establish thought leadership
Establishing coding standards, best practices, and technical strategies for your team
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. or M.S., with 3+ years of industry experience in deep learning or related fields.
Excellent math skills, including linear algebra, computational science and optimization
Creativity and curiosity for solving highly complex problems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience using motion capture systems like OptiTrack
Experience using head-mounted eye tracking
Experience developing applications in Xcode using Swift
Hands-on experience prototyping novel hardware setups, with associated algorithm development
Experience designing and conducting human perception related experiments
Minimum Qualifications
PhD studying computer graphics, optics, computer vision, or a related field
Experience in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
Proficiency in Python development, using best coding practices
Strong engineering background in computer vision, computer graphics, or similar field, with knowledge of the human visual system
Proficiency in C++, Swift, or another object-oriented programming language
Experience in SDK programming for hardware interfaces
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams
Excellent written and verbal communication
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $225,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
