As an Engineering Project Manager within the Product Design organization you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation process for one of our iPhone Product Design teams.

Description

You help lead a team of cross-functional partners and external vendors to meet the overall program objectives focusing on mechanical engineering design, development planning and validation cycles of new iPhones. Your ability to deep dive into material fundamentals, creatively solve challenging logistics and technical problems, and collaborate and work well with inter-disciplinary teams are key to delivering the best material solutions and products to our customers.

","responsibilities":"Drive the strategic execution iPhone Product Design, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and objectives.

Champion the project's design goals, ensuring they are integrated into all aspects of the program and holding teams accountable for achieving them.

Lead the creation and adherence of project schedules, ensuring key decision milestones are met across all phases and holding teams accountable.

Manage budgets, track spending, and ensure financial prudence; proactively identifying appropriate scope drivers and their cost implications.

Facilitate clear and consistent communication and alignment between internal teams (Product Design, System EE & RF, Manufacturing) and external partners, ensuring everyone is working towards the same goals.

Provide strong leadership and support during build phases, ensuring timely delivery of components, proactive problem-solving, and definition of validation plans.

Oversee the release process for parts and enclosures, ensuring timely and accurate releases and holding teams accountable for meeting release deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience collaborating with and facilitating communication across Design, Engineering, Operations teams and our OEM partners to meet very aggressive schedule, and quality goals

Ability to independently drive projects though rapid development cycles and deliver a product

Detailed knowledge of product development processes and strong understanding of manufacturing processes

Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key partners for decision making

Provide project status across a wide spectrum of contributors to executive management

Minimum Qualifications

Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills

Flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity

Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience

Demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

Ability to lead multi-functional communication between project teams and external vendors

Drive day-to-day activities to meet overall project objectives

Create and manage project schedules

Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management

BS Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent

Deep experience in NPI project management and mechanical engineering

Ability to travel/work internationally 25% of year
