iOS Software Engineer, Agentic systems - Special Projects

Description
You'll work alongside a tight group of engineers, designers, and researchers to bring AI features from early prototype to product. This is 0-to-1 work - from a rough idea on a whiteboard to software running on real devices. You'll have a lot of autonomy in how you get there. This position requires a self-motivated engineer with strong technical and interpersonal skills to handle responsibilities including:

Responsibilities:
Implementation and optimization of agentic systems that manage context and orchestrate tools
Partner with ML and AI researchers to translate cutting-edge models into tangible features
Prototyping ideas to support feature definition and iteration
Clearly communicate technical concepts to cross functional partners
Collaboration on architecture discussions and code review
Preferred Qualifications
The following skills are not required, but one or more of these areas would be valuable:
Experience building LLM/Agentic systems
Understanding of how to leverage coding agents effectively and translate that experience into insights
Track record of working cross-functionally and building strong partnerships amongst teams and individuals
Minimum Qualifications
Strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals - BS Computer Science or equivalent experience
3+ years of iOS development experience or equivalent product or systems engineering experience
Practical knowledge of how LLM-powered systems work, including prompt engineering and agent frameworks
Experience with coding agents
Curiosity about new technologies, flexibility, and openness to ambiguity
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
