Instructional Products - Instructional Designer
Apple's Instructional Products team is passionate about helping people discover what's possible with their Apple products - and answering their questions about them. We create the Tips app, user guides, and other instructional content for end users. In this role, you'll collaborate with team members to design and write easy-to-find, clear, beautiful content that supports users in getting the most out of their Apple products.
Description
Apple's Instructional Products team is seeking an Instructional Designer to develop dynamic customer-facing materials for software, hardware, and services products.
You:
- Love words and language, and have strong opinions about style, grammar, tone, and voice.
- Are incredibly thorough, and can quickly spot errors and inconsistencies.
- Are extremely organized, and can keep track of key details.
- Can handle multiple projects simultaneously, shift gears on a dime when priorities change, and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Learn new processes and tools quickly.
- Can visualize and prototype compelling alternatives for presenting instructional information.
- Enjoy researching an issue and developing innovative solutions.
- Love collaborating with team members who work in other roles (designers, editors, engineers, marketers), and are happy to iterate on a piece to the point of perfection.
- Can write clear and engaging content for a variety of formats, and tailor your writing style as needed for different deliverables and audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with software engineers, UX and graphic designers, and project managers.
Experience balancing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting aggressive timelines.
Experience in information design, user experience design, data analysis, usability testing, human interface design, and/or prototyping.
Minimum Qualifications
Exceptional writing skills-including the ability to distill complex topics and procedures into simple and friendly language.
Ability to quickly learn a variety of tools required for creating and debugging deliverables.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management, organizational, and project management skills.
Flexibility and resourcefulness to manage changing business requirements, projects, and resources, adapting accordingly and positively.
Four years' experience creating end-user instructional materials, or equivalent experience.
