Input Engineering Lead (Electrical Engineer)
Apple's Input Devices group is seeking a world-class lead electrical engineer to develop and ship the next generation of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) hardware (e.g. Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard). This is a senior electrical engineer position that entails working with, and leading cross-functional teams on the design, implementation, integration and qualification of Human Interface Devices.
Description
Major responsibilities include:
Schematic capture and managing PCB layout design of the electrical system, including power management, micro-controller, wireless communication, sensor integration and component selection.
Execution of the design in high volume, including characterization and validation across all development builds.
Authoring of detailed engineering requirements specifications.
Working with and managing suppliers/manufacturing partners including overseas build support.
Interface with and present to cross functional leaders for project reviews and discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of industry experience
Experience working with sensors (e.g. touch, force, pressure), wireless communications (bluetooth), low power design, haptics, and wireless charging
Experience designing high volume, high quality consumer electronic products
Experience leading a technical team
Masters or Ph.D preferred in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
Minimum of 4 years of industry experience
Strong EE background in analog, digital, power and PCB design
Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification and manufacturing support
Successful track record of working closely with Mechanical Engineering, Firmware, PCB design, and DFM
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
