Description
We are seeking a highly technical and collaborative Hardware Systems Engineer to lead product readiness, technical validation, and vendor enablement for our next-generation server and storage platforms. This role acts as the primary technical interface between our internal engineering teams and ODM/OEM partners, ensuring hardware designs meet our performance, reliability, and quality requirements from concept through mass production. You will work across electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, thermal, firmware/BIOS, manufacturing, and quality teams-driving issue resolution, implementing validation plans, and enabling detailed integration of vendor-built systems into our product portfolio. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, procurement, manufacturing, operations and other engineering groups to transform innovative ideas into tangible realities.

","responsibilities":"As a Hardware Systems Engineer on the DCHWE team, you will:
Drive Project Execution: Lead and handle the end-to-end execution of hardware development projects or critical sub-systems, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget, and to Apple's exacting quality standards.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the primary technical liaison and coordinator between hardware design teams, firmware, software, operations, supply chain, industrial design, and manufacturing partners.
Technical Oversight & Guidance: Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring sound design decisions, robust validation plans, and effective problem-solving throughout the development cycle.
Risk Management: Proactively identify technical, schedule, and supply chain risks; develop and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
Vendor & Partner Management: Collaborate closely with external vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure design intent is met, DFM requirements are addressed, and production ramp-up is successful.
Communication & Reporting: Provide regular, clear, and concise project updates to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and proposed solutions.
Problem Solving: Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues that arise during design, prototyping, validation, and production phases.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of hardware development processes and guidelines within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a role focused on product development and technical project leadership.
Experience driving projects through EVT/DVT/PVT phases in collaboration with global ODM/OEM vendors and Contract Manufacturers.
Proven track record of successfully bringing complex hardware products or major sub-systems from initial concept to manufacturing.
Deep technical understanding of Industry Standard data center Server and Storage solutions.
Strong knowledge of product development lifecycle (PDLC) phases, including design, prototyping, validation, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), and NPI (New Product Introduction).
