Global Commodity Manager, AppleCare

We are seeking a Global Commodity Manager to join our AppleCare team. In this role, you will manage continuity of supply, warranty redemption, supplier quality claims, repair and testing, reverse logistics, and costs for service products components. You will collaborate cross-functionally to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
Description
As a Global Commodity Manager, you will design and implement solutions that achieve business-critical metrics for the AppleCare supply chain. You will partner closely with planning, purchasing, finance, engineering, and quality teams to ensure full support throughout the service phase of the product lifecycle. You will also leverage data, systems, and emerging technologies to drive efficiency and optimize supply chain performance.","responsibilities":"Develop an understanding of the commodity landscape to forecast trends, identify market dynamics, and negotiate optimal sourcing terms that meet Apple's performance criteria.
Manage costs for warranty, seed stock, repairs, and out-of-production replacement parts, and perform spend analysis for strategic procurement deals.
Design and optimize repair and replacement supply chains through cost and capacity scenario analysis, benchmarking, and securing continuity of supply.
Collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers to verify root causes, identify failure rates, assess financial impacts, and settle quality claims.
Manage supplier performance through Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and Supplier Performance Index (SPI) processes, driving suppliers to enhance their infrastructure.
Design, enhance, and support systems and tools using SQL, databases (such as Snowflake, Oracle, TigerGraph), and AI/ML technologies to create data-driven insights.
Provide program management support, including leading AppleCare Post-Ramp Qualification (PRQ) projects and organizing systems workshops for the team.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Computer Applications, or a related field is preferred
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
Experience utilizing AI/ML technologies to drive supply chain efficiency.
Understanding of demand planning and supply chain planning.
Communication and interpersonal skills to build cross-functional relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive projects.
Ability to operate independently, make quick decisions, and train team members when necessary.
Analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve complex supply chain issues and anomalies using ambiguous data.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Computer Applications, or a related field
7+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, computer applications, or a related area.
Background in vendor management, including working with contract manufacturers and negotiating contractual terms.
Knowledge of component manufacturing processes and identifying and resolving engineering quality issues.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,200 and $281,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
