The T3E Organization is looking for a Generative AI Quality Engineering to support System Intelligence Machine Learning(SIML) teams in the domain of multi-modal perception and reasoning. This is an opportunity to work at the core of Apple Intelligence, working across modalities such as vision, language, gesture, gaze, touch, etc. to enable highly intuitive and personalized intelligence experiences across the Apple ecosystem. We're looking for critical thinkers who would like to play a key role qualifying critical software and the frameworks that support it during all stages of software development. We practice nimble, fast-paced development that relies heavily on a tight relationship between Engineering, Project Management, and QA.

Description

As a member of the team, you'll have the opportunity to work with a small team of highly skilled engineers to bring new, Generative-AI enabled experiences to Apple products. You will work with experienced engineers, designers, and machine learning experts to qualify and refine features that delight users as well as form a solid technical foundation for future development. In this position you will need to be self-directed, creative, and comfortable with change and ambiguity. Design and execution of test plans for functional and performance validation of vision-based ML pipelines.

Risk analysis and cross-functional coordination for integrating SIML frameworks like Visual Understanding (People) across the system.

Maintain a high-level technical understanding of area responsibility to ensure feature reliability across software layers.

Pipeline-level triage and debugging to identify and resolve functional regressions and performance bottlenecks in the stack.

Preferred Qualifications

An enthusiasm for user-focused design and shipping high-quality technology

Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail

Proven experience creating test plans for new products and features

Passion for debugging difficult problems and driving results with multi-functional teams

Excellent communication skills to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple

Curiosity about new technologies, flexibility and openness to ambiguity

Proficiency with iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS or similar operating systems

While the following skills aren't required, knowledge of one or more of these areas would be valuable:

Familiarity with AI principles , Foundation Models and Tools

Track record of working cross-functionally and building strong partnerships amongst teams and individuals

Understanding of Python or Swift is a plus

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of experience working in Software Quality Assurance

B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $112,500 and $231,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
