We are looking for an experienced front-end developer to join our Internal Communications team as both a builder and a technical lead on Apple's internal news platform - someone who thrives at the intersection of editorial and web development, and understands the rhythm, pace, and scope of corporate communications work.

Description
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain web pages and emails that enable a world-class communications organization to work at its best. You will also contribute to the development and enhancement of Apple's internal news platform, email communications, and editorial experiences.
Beyond development, you will serve as day-to-day site lead, managing the publishing experience, working directly with editorial and creative teams to bring their visions to life on the web, ensuring content gets published to a high standard, as well as working closely with a partner engineering team for ongoing improvements. This includes light QA validation and testing ahead of new code releases.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain web pages and shared UI components using semantic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, optimized for Safari/WebKit
Partner with editorial and design teams to translate content and layout needs into reusable page templates and components
Own the day-to-day publishing workflow - building page layouts, managing templates, and ensuring content goes live cleanly without editorial staff needing to write code
Take ownership of the site experience to proactively identify opportunities to improve design, functionality, and user experience
Design and code HTML emails and templates that render reliably across Apple devices, both desktop and mobile
Serve as backup email developer and publisher, as needed
Test and QA check new designs, features, and bug fixes across Safari versions, with secondary checks in other browsers
Contribute to an internal component library across articles, landing pages, and emails
Work with engineering partners and editorial peers to improve shared tooling
Support platform migration and site redesign efforts, including building templates, content types, and front-end conventions within a modern CMS architecture
Contribute to department initiatives and emerging priorities beyond the core role
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of professional development experience, including front-end development and work on email campaigns
Hands-on experience with Drupal, including building and maintaining content types and working within Drupal's front-end conventions
Deep experience with an email development framework or testing tool
Experience with web-based email management and distribution platforms
Background working in or alongside media, internal communications, marketing, or editorial web production teams
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, Slack/Messages-driven environment with quick turnarounds
Experience designing for a mixed desktop/mobile and global audience
Familiarity with React or a similar component-based framework, and Node.js-based tooling
Applied best practices in accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.2 AA
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of professional front-end development experience
Strong experience with semantic HTML5, modern CSS, and JavaScript
Demonstrated experience building and testing HTML email templates
Deep familiarity with Safari/WebKit rendering behavior on both macOS and iOS, and comfort troubleshooting WebKit-specific issues
Comfort with collaboration and project management tools for documentation, task tracking, and cross-team coordination
Basic Git/version control proficiency

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $119,700 and $180,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
