Entertainment Editor, Apple News

Apple News is at the forefront of media and technology, providing millions of users with news and information from leading news organizations around the globe. We are a 24/7 news team making real-time coverage decisions based on the day's biggest events. We work hand-in-hand with some of the world's biggest publishers, highlighting the best and most engaging content on our platform for our large national audience. You will oversee the team's entertainment-news strategy, curating articles, writing copy, covering events, and communicating directly with our publisher partners.

What are the most important, culturally significant, and engaging entertainment stories of the moment? In this role, you will shape entertainment coverage for millions of Apple News users every day - working with our excellent publishing partners to highlight celebrity news, industry insights, cultural trends, and the best new movies, TV, books, music, podcasts, and more. You will curate entertainment articles, with an emphasis on quality, accuracy, and context; write sharp and engaging copy in the Apple News style; plan and execute special-event coverage; and work cross-functionally to support News projects and goals. This role will also contribute to the curation of lifestyle content like travel, home design, fashion, and relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous newsroom leadership role

Experience working cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams

Experience writing or editing lifestyle content

Minimum Qualifications

5-7+ years experience writing or editing entertainment news for a media company

Strong editorial judgment and excellent writing skills

Experience with breaking news and delivering clear, concise copy on deadline

A deep understanding of pop-culture, celebrity, and entertainment-industry news

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once

Ability to collaborate and work productively across a large organization
