Engineering Program Manager - ASE / iCloud Platform
Apple is seeking an experienced Software engineering program manager for the Apple Services Engineering (ASE) | iCloud Platform organization.
We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals looking to contribute to the development and execution of the extraordinary services and infrastructure that power Apple's products and bring the iCloud experience closer to the user.
You will partner with teams and vendors whose mission is to build, maintain, and improve the platform and product layer of Apple's most critical cloud services at scale.
Your work will focus on services, features, quality, reliability, scalability, privacy and security technologies within iCloud Platform.Part of the role will require you to influence and partner in defining and implementing standard processes that improve our operational efficiency as well as play a pivotal role in the evolution of the next generation of the platform.
The work is integral through the entire software stack so you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of engineering teams.
Description
Technically curious and a functional expert you will autonomously lead projects of varying scale and complexity with cross-functional development and SRE teams with only consultative direction from leadership.
This is not a task-based job; we are accountable for delivering secure and performant systems.
Partnering with program, engineering leaders and teams you will influence and drive software delivery. You will review business requirements, ensure clarity and establish expectations for services requested while developing and executing processes, frameworks, metrics, project plans, defining scope, schedule, deliverables and resources. You will be able to operate at all levels of the organization; going deep in to the detail to prioritize team activities and drive resolution of issues across all areas of the program while communicating status and issues to teams, leadership and other partners. You will facilitate focused concise status and program operations. You will advise and carry out risk assessment and mitigation plans as needed. Execution is critical so you will drive maturity programs with cross-functional organizations and teams while continuously working to improve the software development lifecycle process within the org. Lead all aspects of multiple concurrent features including scope, priorties, requirements, timelines, and resource allocation
Manage concise status and program operations.
Advise and carry out risk assessment and mitigation plans as needed.
Drive maturity programs with cross-functional organizations and teams while continuously working to improve the software development lifecycle process within the org.
Foster collaboration across a broad team of XF partners to formulate roadmap and manage intake of new feature asks. Help set the strategy and communicate status and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
Bring clarity by creating plans, driving the team to execute on those plans, setting goals and expectations, and removing roadblocks.
Influence and build relationships with team members in all functional areas and levels of the organization-engineering, business, product, legal, marketing, design, and leadership.
Participate and facilitate teams working through technical challenges and decisions. Remain curious to understand and be able to represent the overall system design independently

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in Cloud Platform related software delivery.
Strong technical proficiency: Client/server product development and bonus points for past programming experience
Experience leading large, complex programs; from requirements gathering, collaboration with teams, through software development and release qualification while maintaining a high bar for quality.
Experience managing cross-org dependencies across multiple engineering teams.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience in program / project management successfully leading highly cross-functional software development as part of the SDLC.
Bachelor's/Master's Degree or equivalent work experience in project management or Cloud, AI engineering
Have personally orchestrated the delivery of multiple significant client/server software products, under demanding timelines, managing multiple work streams cross functionally across a large organization
Collaborative engagement and technical empathy for engineers.
Sound technical foundation and a highly motivated self-starter
Experience as a project lead, able to focus and simplify, balancing the details with goals, priorities, and trade-offs in mind
Consistent record in defining processes, key metrics and executing on them
Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire team members
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience with strong presentation skills both in person and in multi-location meetings
Able to think critically and creatively, identify risks and drive the execution across multiple teams to remediate them

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,300 and $245,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
