Depth Sensor Development Engineer

The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of camera hardware for all related Apple products. Our target is to deliver superior camera hardware to enable best-in-class camera user experience. As a key member of the Camera Semiconductor Technologies team, you will be responsible for the modeling, design, optimization, and validation of pixels, in-pixel circuits, and development of new sensors.

You will be at the center of efforts to develop new depth sensing technology, and you will engage with cross-functional teams working on many aspects of system, module, circuit, and device development.","responsibilities":"As a Depth Sensor Development Engineer, your core responsibilities will be:

Validate and characterize sensors for specific applications.

Development and validation of sensor specifications to engage with internal and external partners.

Collaborating with global image sensor suppliers to develop new image sensors for different applications.

Documenting and presenting your results to both internal and external engineering teams.

Working with internal and external teams to assure that sufficient and correct testing is implemented at all stages to guarantee performance.

Preferred Qualifications

MSc/PhD in electrical engineering, EECS, physics or relevant industry experience

Experience in image sensor pixel and sensor development, sensor characterization, sensor bring-up and debug, or wafer-level testing

Familiar with image sensor technology, image sensor performance metrics, image sensor usage, and integration into camera systems

Basic knowledge of photodiodes, pixel front-end circuit and analog circuits

Experience with avalanche photodiode (APD or SPAD) image sensors

Experience in electro-optical mass-production screening test or characterization of imaging solutions and/or sensor functional validation (analog and logic-oriented)

Experience of building a optical system / imaging system

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's in electrical engineering, EECS, physics or relevant industry experience.

Experience in building test setup, running characterization, and analyzing results with software such as MATLAB or Python.

Experience working on active ranging systems such as LIDAR, Time-of-Flight, FMCW, or similar.","internalDetails":null

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
