Apple is seeking a Component and MLB Quality Engineer with a strong background in electrical design, component quality and failure analysis. This role will require collaboration on quality initiatives across multiple different organizations within Apple so a broad experience across consumer circuit design with a focus on manufacturing quality is highly desired.

Description

Join our highly driven Component Quality Engineering team. We lead the component quality from end-to-end during the life of various Apple products. As part of the team, you will partner closely with multidisciplinary teams and global suppliers to enable product success.

This role requires a strong background in component architecture, design, test, fab/manufacturing, quality and reliability with additional knowledge in IC packaging, system level test and failure analysis. The primary focus for this role is on IC components ranging from ASICs to passives & discrete. This role will require collaboration on quality initiatives across multiple different organizations within Apple so a broad experience across consumer circuit design with a focus on manufacturing quality is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

Partner with Suppliers to build high volume capability, focusing on manufacturing process improvements and yield optimization.

Leading Root Cause & Corrective Actions on electronic components during development builds and production ramp across all Apple products.

Vendor (Fab process, Wafer level test, Final test, and Packaging) facility auditing

Drive and track closure on any component level issues that impact overall product readiness or DPPM fluctuations

Provide quality team approval risk for MP releases and ensure team drives quality requirements for any post-ramp qualification

Manage program-related communication including highlighting key risks to executive management and clearly explaining resolution path

Component failure analysis with System and Product Design, Component and Electrical Engineering, Test and Reliability teams

Work with cross-functional teams (design, product design, GSM) to drive Design for Manufacturability.

Commitment and ability to work under high pressure, with proficiency in summarizing technical data for an executive audience to drive high impact decisions

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the properties and processes used in both microelectronics fabrication and PCBA assembly

Ability to craft and deliver presentations tailored to executive audiences

Exceptional ability to build relationships; clear, consistent communication; data-driven and results- oriented; enthusiastic and motivated

Expectation to travel 30%. Experience working with off-shore electronic manufacturing sites to perform process and quality audits

Minimum Qualifications

7+ years of industry experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing Operations and/or Quality Engineering.

Solid understanding of components used in both digital and analog design, statistical methods, component and circuit failure analysis and process capability.

Strong experience with product reliability and/or qualification background.

BS/MS/PhD Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Materials Science

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,500 and $263,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
