Description

Apple is seeking a Hardware Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to join the Camera Technologies team to drive design and development of early exploration platforms and technology building blocks that enable and influence product architecture decisions. The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate their engineering background to proactively to lead a dedicated multi-functional engineering team through definition and Proof of Concept of new imaging technologies and architectures for Apple products. They would have a consistent track record of leading teams through developing complex hardware technology and working through ambiguity. This candidate would also command a deep understanding of the phases of technology development and how best to apply situational program management to organize, develop and orchestrate a program plan.","responsibilities":"Driving project definition, resource management, milestones and timelines. Ensuring tight inter-team coordination and communication for an organization that has team members located across many geographies.

Grasping complex technical topics and abstract key issues / risks and translating into actionable form for executive management.

Constantly engage in pro-active risk management, and effectively communicate status and issues to the development team and Apple executives. Strong organization, presentation, and communication skills required.

Ability to travel internationally to support technology center and vendor activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Exceptional program management and leadership skills: rigorous and proactive approach to development and coordination of program plans, schedule estimates, and definition and management of project goals.

In-depth technical engineering knowledge to effectively establish and manage projects especially through the early ambiguous definition phases, assess and drive technical risks, and critically challenge engineering decisions.

Proven ability to effectively manage multiple global teams and vendors.

Ability to bring focus and transparency to complex situations while monitoring the bigger picture and the needs of a rapid development cycle.

Skilled at handling accountability without control, knowing how to identify and drive priorities from among the multiple issues competing for your attention.

Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

Knowledge of imaging system concepts and design, and/or camera key parts and subcomponents design.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience working with early technology development and consumer hardware product life cycles.

BS degree in engineering field + 3 years of relevant experience.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
