Camera Framework Tooling Engineer - Photo Capture

The seamless integration of software and hardware has led to features like Night Mode, Live Photos, Apple ProRAW, SmartHDR, Portrait Mode, and many others, which deliver magical experiences that surprise and delight our customers! The Camera Framework Tooling team in Camera & Photos provides software tools to enable photo/video data collection, image quality assessment and tuning, imaging algorithm development etc. We also work closely with the Camera Framework team. The Camera Framework team is at the heart of the camera capture stack, and provides the camera foundation APIs and underlying real-time multithreaded media pipeline powering clients like iOS's built-in Camera application, thousands of third-party applications, and even AR-based experiences. As an engineer working on the Camera Framework tooling team, you'll be developing Camera Software tools based on the Camera Capture API. You will also be working side-by-side with the world-class engineers that built iPhone's camera to what it is today, and build new great camera capabilities spanning the universe of Apple devices. Description
If you consider yourself an engaging and highly collaborative engineer with excellent communication skills, and are comfortable in a dynamic environment, we feel we have a rewarding opportunity for you. We are looking for a strong software engineer to help implement our Camera framework tools. Understanding of real-time systems behavior, concurrent processing, and performance- and memory-sensitive environments is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in concurrency, real-time systems, memory- and performance-sensitive systems a plus.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and communicate clearly while working on multiple projects.
Passionate and inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways.
Focus on details that are meaningful to our customers.
A bias for action.
Minimum Qualifications
0-3 years of software development experience.
Excelled in relevant coursework in computer architecture, collaborative software engineering, algorithms, and/or computer graphics.
Proficient in Objective-C, C, or C++
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $126,800 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
