Camera Embedded Software Engineer
Apple's ISP team is looking for an extraordinary Embedded Software Engineer to drive pioneering technologies for Apple products. As part of the team you will work on core camera and ISP technologies, including Apple crafted Image Signal Processing Pipeline and hardware components, where you will have the chance to define the way that Apple develops, tests and manufactures all of its products. Description
This is a highly multi-functional product development role and you will work closely with various teams such as the Silicon Design/QA team and the machine learning algorithm team. The environment is multifaceted, fast-paced and requires a self-starter demeanor.
Responsibilities:
Develop low-level device drivers for sophisticated image processing pipelines in embedded systems, targeting Apple's latest SoC blocks and chipsets, with guidance from senior engineers on complex assignments.
Contribute to the design and implementation of camera features, collaborating with other teams to define features and communication protocols, and documenting implementation specifications.
Contribute to optimization and improvement of system performance across power, CPU usage, latency, jitter, and related metrics.
Support hardware validation and factory testing, including implementing features that enable hardware testing and diagnostics.
Preferred Qualifications
A passion for embedded software development.
Familiarity with camera pipeline or video processing pipeline.
Familiarity with SoC and hardware-layer development, including bring-up, hardware drivers, and firmware.
Growing ability to work independently on structured, well-defined tasks with ownership.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 1+ year of relevant experience, or MS in a related field
Proficiency in C/C++
Proficiency in developing multi-threaded software within an embedded RTOS environment.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,300 and $194,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
