The Audio and Media Technologies team provides the audio, video, and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, iPod, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, iTunes, and macOS, as well as professional and consumer applications from Final Cut, Logic and iWork.

The Audio & Media Technologies (AMT) team provides the audio foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone/iPad, iPod, Apple TV, Apple Watch, macOS, and the new VisionOS, as well as developer support via numerous system frameworks.

The team is looking for talented engineers who are passionate about building audio features and products for millions of customers and care about overall user experience.

Description

The AMT Audio team is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Audio Firmware Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of all aspects of audio firmware running on a wide range of Apple products. You will work hand-in-hand with the AMT Audio team, innovating in small groups with high initiative. If you are curious for new Apple products and dedicated for quality and timely delivery, this is a place for you. You will enjoy team collaboration and be able to push yourself to solve challenging problems. This position will make significant engineering contributions to industry-leading hardware products.

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of audio technologies, applications and real-time audio systems

Knowledge of Objective-C or Swift

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in firmware development, device bringup, debugging and testing

Excellent C/C++ programming skills

Understanding of Core OS concepts like multi-threading, memory management, power management

Familiarity with real-time audio (sample rates, buffering, PCM, DMA, drivers)

Have great problem-solving skills, ability to evaluate and identify issues at a code level

Ability to design and integrate code into a shipping product

Thrives in a dynamic, collaborative team environment

BS in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience)
