AppleCare is the service division in Apple where we provide the after sales service, repair and support to our customers. Our mission is to innovate and complete extraordinary service supply chain that deliver the right part to the right time, at competitive cost to service our customers.
AppleCare Service is looking for a highly analytical, motivated, hard-working individual with a supply and demand planning background in fast-pace, high-product-mix environment. You will lead service inventory planning, identify and analyze demand trends at both macro and micro levels, balance supply and demand while generating and managing forecasts on a global scale.
Description
This role requires consistent management of AppleCare service inventory through the use of advanced planning systems to analyze supply and demand situations across the globe, supporting customer segments and channels across service customers, business-to-business partners, and many others while achieving target fill rates, avoiding and mitigating backlog, and achieving financial goals. The role also requires consistent and clear communications of forecasted supply, constraint prioritization, and management of supply chain disruptions with partner teams including vendors, distribution centers, and our global cross functional partners. Additionally this role also requires partnership with AI/ML solutions teams to develop, test, and implement enterprise-wide solutions as well as to optimize existing workflows, supply cost, and inventory levels.

Determine allocation and inventory balancing across AppleCare sites and regions
Review daily repots and act on supply shortages immediately to minimize impact to our customers
Complete root cause analyses and develop mitigation plans for any supply gaps
Present part status to management on key supply issues
Collaborate with internal Apple teammates as needed to resolve issues, forming relationships with these to successfully influence and handle partner concerns daily
Work collaboratively with demand planning partners to improve forecast accuracy
Work directly with commodities managers and vendors to develop solutions to supply issues and constraints
Work with cross-functional teams in Engineering, Procurement, Commodities managers, Finance, AI/ML, and suppliers to implement the most cost-effective supply chain solutions for AppleCare
Actively participate in regular and ad-hoc morning or evening calls with global teams and/or vendors
Optimize inventory and drive improved inventory turns
Handle excess and obsolete inventory
Manage day-to-day execution activities with distribution centers and downstream channels partners
Review and maintain relevant planning parameters in AppleCare planning systems
Publish weekly production schedules to suppliers
Partner with AI/ML solution teams to develop, test, and implement enterprise-wide solutions
Drive AI/ML innovations to improve existing workflows and to optimize supply cost and inventory levels
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master' or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent work experience
Experience in supply planning, demand planning, commodities and procurement management, inventory management or supply chain management
Masters degree in a related field or MBA preferred
Experience in implementing AI/ML solutions and applications
Experience in reporting tools such as Business Objects, Tableau, or similar tools
Microsoft Office Suite (MOS) certification or equivalent certification
Lean, six sigma or equivalent certification
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor' or 3 years and a Master' or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
Experience in supply planning, demand planning, commodities and procurement management, inventory management or supply chain management
Possess a solid understanding of world-class supply chain practices, strong analytical capabilities, strong leadership skills, and business savvy
Effective in communication, influencing, and negotiation in a matrix organization including one-on-one, small and large groups, and with peers and executives
Ability to both think strategically and implement tactically, a persistent attention to details, a high level of comfort in running large data sets and conduction ad hoc analysis, skills for blending quantitative and qualitative data
Experience with cross-functional collaboration to achieve outstanding customer. Service in a complex and fast-paced environment
Consistent track record in delivering on operational KPI's while leading projects and initiatives. Sense of priority and urgency to meet deadlines from different partners
High proficiency in Excel and ability to learn applications quickly
Familiarity with AI/ML solutions and applications
Knowledge of SAP or other equivalent MRP tools
