We're seeking a hardworking, experienced, and driven Product Manager to lead Personalization for the App Store.
Description
In this role you will shape how millions of users browse and discover apps through smarter, context aware personalized experiences that reflect individual taste and intent. You'll evolve core systems that model user preferences and app understanding, ensuring the App Store feels relevant, timely, and helpful for every user. You will drive experimentation across Browse surfaces in the App Store, translating data into clear product direction. This role also owns safeguards that protect quality, trust, and privacy in personalization systems. Additionally, you will define product and model requirements across international storefronts to ensure great experiences globally while advancing browse and discovery that brings users back to the App Store.

Evolve personalization systems that use richer user signals and deeper app understanding to surface the most relevant content across the App Store.
Guide the team in developing advanced AI/ML solutions in alignment with Apple values.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to form policies and practices that uphold privacy, trust, safety, and AI principles to deliver a premium user experience.
Partner with Engineering, Editorial and Program Management teams to build innovative and delightful best-in-class personalized experiences using the latest technologies.
Lead competitive analysis, customer research, and product metrics evaluations to define features that drive engagement and usage.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep understanding of large scale recommendation systems, with experience building personalized consumer products and proactively identifying ethical risks in AI systems.
Proven track record of collaborating with machine learning experts to define and assess critical metrics.
Experience designing and interpreting online experiments such as A/B tests, offline evaluation metrics (e.g., recall, MRR), and managing relevance judgment processes.
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify key opportunities and measure impact to drive improved user experiences.
Demonstrate strong expertise in technology, software engineering, and design, effectively communicating complex ideas across the organization and engaging in UX research to identify obstacles, enhance ease of use and improve customer satisfaction.
Experience working on legal or policy issues related to technology products.
Exceptional interpersonal skills; thrives in highly collaborative projects, effective at building consensus, handles decisions with ease, and has the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Ability to translate highly technical personalization systems into clear consumer experiences, articulating the what and why of the feature through a strong user lens and deep empathy for customer needs.
Extraordinary oral and written communication skills, with the ability to operate fluently in technical detail and align executives and cross functional partners on complex ML driven initiatives.
Excellent storytelling and Keynote presentation skills, that connect strategy, product decisions, and user impact in high visibility forums.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years in product management and managing complex software projects with multiple collaborators and organizations.
3+ years of experience with AI/ML technologies (e.g., language models, search & recommendation systems) and a proven track record of shipping AI/ML based consumer products.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
