AI Solutions Engineer
The people here at Apple don't just create products, they create the kind of wonder that's revolutionized entire industries. It's the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do, from amazing technology to industry-leading environmental efforts. Our team produces the foundation, tools, and support that enable Corporate FP&A and Investor Relations to provide the financial insight that our executives need to keep Apple as the preeminent company in the world.
Description
As an AI Solutions Engineer on the Corporate FP&A Data Analytics team, you'll pair hands-on vibe-coding and AI-assisted development with the work that turns an idea into a real tool: user research, technical design, and keeping finance partners and engineering aligned. Day to day, you'll turn messy financial-analysis needs into working proof-of-concept features, and help FP&A and Investor Relations partners put approved internal AI tools to work. Over time, you'll help shape what Apple's internal financial tools can do next, prototyping AI-powered solutions and working with engineering to carry them into the enterprise applications our team builds and supports.
Responsibilities:
Use generative AI to quickly build interactive, pre-production prototypes for Corporate FP&A and Investor Relations tools.
Guide FP&A and Investor Relations partners to real value from approved internal AI tools: share what works and help them adopt it.
Run user research and usability sessions with finance partners, then translate what you learn into clear specs for engineering.
Set the technical direction for what you build, making data-informed trade-off calls across new capabilities, technical debt, and partner requests.
Work with engineering to get prototypes into production intact, and stay involved through release planning.
Own feedback loops on the tools you build, and triage functional support escalations with the right teams.
Report to partners on adoption and how features are landing, so the team can see what's working and where to improve.
Preferred Qualifications
Solutions engineering, product management, or technical program management experience in a finance, BI, or data analytics domain, such as corporate finance, FP&A, Investor Relations, or executive reporting tools.
Experience designing or integrating AI/LLM-powered features into enterprise tools (e.g., natural language querying, summarization, intelligent defaults).
Experience driving adoption of new tools or AI capabilities with business users (enablement, training, or change management).
Familiarity with data pipelines, dimensional modeling, or data warehousing concepts as they relate to financial reporting.
Experience handling confidential, market-sensitive financial data within security and data-governance controls.
Experience taking prototypes to production: defining acceptance criteria, coordinating with engineering on API and backend integration, and making sure design intent survives implementation.
Explains technical ideas clearly to non-technical partners; comfortable in Agile tools like Jira and Confluence.
Works independently, iterates fast, and enjoys picking up unfamiliar tools and domains.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years in solutions engineering, product management, technical program management, or a similar technical role.
BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven ability to build functional prototypes and proof-of-concept applications with modern web technologies (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Streamlit), accelerated by AI coding tools like Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, or Antigravity.
Experience conducting user research and writing functional and technical specifications for engineering.
Hands-on SQL for analyzing datasets and informing technical decisions.
Experience producing or supporting executive-level reporting.
