What You'll Be Doing:

  • Designing, specifying, and writing comprehensive test cases for Ansys part of Synopsys - Optics applications, including Lumerical and interoperability with Speos and Zemax.
  • Creating, modifying, and maintaining both manual and automated test scripts to ensure rigorous software validation.
  • Performing functional, application, regression, and performance testing across diverse environments-Windows, Linux, virtual machines, compute clusters, and public clouds (Amazon, Azure).
  • Developing and executing detailed test plans, participating actively in defect management, and contributing to the analysis of testing metrics.
  • Investigating and reproducing defects reported by internal teams, following up on resolutions, and verifying implemented fixes.
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of internal automation tools to improve testing efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborating closely with R&D and technical specialists to ensure product requirements and quality standards are met.
  • Applying standardized processes and best practices in software development, testing, and quality assurance.

  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality optics simulation and design software used by leading researchers and engineers worldwide.
  • Improving the reliability and usability of Ansys part of Synopsys - Optics products, directly impacting customer satisfaction and innovation.
  • Driving automation initiatives that streamline testing and accelerate product release cycles.
  • Identifying and resolving product issues early, reducing time-to-market for new features and enhancements.
  • Contributing valuable insights to product development teams, helping shape the direction and capabilities of future optics software solutions.
  • Supporting the adoption of modern software engineering practices, elevating quality standards across the organization.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with no experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance or software development roles.
  • Proficiency with Python, C++, MATLAB, or other programming and scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies, including manual, automated, functional, and regression testing.
  • Experience working in diverse computing environments, including Windows, Linux, VMs, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, ADO, Bugzilla) and version control tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
  • Knowledge of or interest in optics, photonics, or electromagnetics simulation tools is a plus.
