Senior Manager, Actuary (Hybrid)

Lead a team that provides analysis for the full range of actuarial activities related to either insurance pricing or ratemaking for various lines of business. Builds models and projections to enable the business to generate consistent and sound prices.

Position Compensation Range:
$150,000.00 - $255,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

• Creates a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by promoting trust, transparency, and inclusion. Work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support ongoing development.

• Leads with influence and expertise. Contribute to division or department leadership team. Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.

• Manages ongoing product and model maintenance.

• May lead one of more of the accountabilities below: -Provides input and advice to help establish the pricing strategy for the line of business; help communicate pricing strategies to business partners. -Oversees product pricing development (from model development through business rule development) -Manages and oversees rate making process (rate methodology, rate plan review, rate implementation). -Manage the relationship with core business partners and assist prioritization of pricing efforts across states and regions. -Responsible for compliance with rate standards used for the respective state insurance department. -Manage and leads the analysis and interpretation of loss reserve, loss incurred, and loss adjustment expense data.

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.

• Demonstrated experience communicating complex data to multiple business partners.

• Demonstrated experience in public speaking and use of appropriate presentation skills.

• Solid knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates, and industry trends.

• Solid knowledge, understanding and demonstrated experience performing statistical/actuarial analysis and modeling techniques.

• Demonstrated effective leadership experience.

• Solid knowledge of insurance industry, its market, competitors, regulatory constraints, judicial climate, and consumer activism.

• Associate or Fellow in the Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS or FCAS).

Additional Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Commercial and Farm/Ranch experience is preferred.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10%.

Physical Requirements

• Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from the office. Candidates should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110
