Job Description
Software Engineer Consultant II implements applications following 12-factor principles to build out the product and iterative enhancements. They partner on full stack of software products; developing and implementing frontends (web or mobile), and backend services. They leverage test driven development and continuous integration to ensure agility and quality of products. They actively participate in the decision-making process of the team ensuring that the simplest appropriate technology and design is chosen to meet user needs.

About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Mid-Level Full-Stack Developer who is comfortable working across backend and frontend technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, testing libraries, and modern frontend frameworks like React and JavaScript. Basic proficiency in Python, familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI agents, and the ability to effectively leverage GitHub Copilot for code generation are essential.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable services, intuitive frontends, and intelligent automation leveraging AI-assisted development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Gradle.
- Build responsive and high-quality frontend applications using React, JavaScript, and related libraries.
- Write clean, modular, and well-tested code using industry-standard unit testing and integration testing tools.
- Utilize GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development techniques to increase productivity, code quality, and architectural consistency.
- Contribute to design discussions, technical decision-making, and code reviews.
- Implement APIs, microservices, and integrations following best practices.
- Apply foundational understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol) and AI agents to build or integrate with other AI tools
- Creating MCP to be integrated with Github Copilot
- Collaborate effectively in an agile environment with product managers, designers, and QA teams.
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to continuous improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
Backend
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Gradle for project build and dependency management.
- Good understanding of backend concepts (REST APIs, microservices, authentication, scalability).
Frontend
- Proficiency in React, JavaScript, and modern UI development practices.
- Familiarity with component-based architecture and frontend build tools.
Testing & Quality
- Experience with Java testing libraries (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, AssertJ).
- Experience with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
AI-assisted Development
- Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot or similar tools for:
- Generating code efficiently
- Refactoring and suggesting improvements
- Writing tests
- Enforcing coding standards
- Understanding of best practices for prompting and guiding AI tools.
Additional Skills
- Basic proficiency in Python (scripts, utilities, automation).
- Introductory knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) and AI agents.
- Familiarity with DevOps concepts (CI/CD pipelines, containerization) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
