SAP ABAP/SAP HANA Expert

Job Description
The Vended Application Expert provides expertise across all major functions in their area(s) of the business and delivers product features utilizing vended software, particularly ERP applications, by applying knowledge of the application's functionality and client business processes. The role creates technical and process designs and configures vendor software for the highly complex new or existing enterprise-wide and business-unit applications and maintenance efforts. The VAA Expert knows vendor feature roadmaps and capabilities and leverages developer groups and support processes to gain insight and provide direction.
Technical Leadership & Development
- Design and develop optimized ABAP code for SAP HANA, including CDS Views, AMDP, and OData services.
- Lead the modernization of legacy ABAP code to leverage HANA capabilities.
- Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, performance tuning, and clean code principles.
Delivery Management
- Own end-to-end delivery in a product team, ensuring quality, timelines, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Technical/functional teams, DPM, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Manage risks, scope changes, and delivery milestones effectively.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of ABAP developers and functional consultants fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Conduct code reviews, technical training, and career development planning.
- Drive agile and DevOps practices within the SAP development team.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies including S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and Fiori/UI5.
- Identify opportunities for automation, performance improvement, and innovation within SAP landscapes.
Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years of SAP ABAP experience, with at least 3+ years on SAP HANA (CDS, AMDP, OData).
- Strong understanding of S/4HANA architecture and data modeling.
- Proven experience in leading SAP development teams and delivering large-scale projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP, and integration technologies.
Exposure to CI/CD, Git, and DevOps tools in SAP environments.
