Alion is seeking a Test Engineer to support work this team. We are looking for a candidate who can apply our agile engineering methodology to every project, problem, and scenario, making effective use of time and money for our clients while providing full-lifecycle spectrum support. A successful candidate for this position will support complex analyses and testing efforts for the U.S. Navy in Dahlgren, Virginia. Located in King George County near the Potomac River, Dahlgren is just 50 miles southeast of Washington DC and provides a quality work environment without the traffic and congestion of a long commute. Dahlgren's unique location offers scenic views of Virginia and access to the Washington/Richmond metropolitan areas through U.S. Routes 3 and 301. Responsibilities
  • Devises testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of product in conjunction with product design and specifications.
  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.
  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
  • Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.
  • Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
  • Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.
  • Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
  • Performs analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products. Develop testing procedures.
  • Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes. Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Qualifications
  • Four (4) year degree from an accredited College or University in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math
  • At least 3 years' experience performing a combination of the following tasks:
    • Defining and documenting processes for conducting engineering tests of military hardware/software systems
    • Scheduling and conducting tests to accommodate fielding schedules and military deployment cycles, and coordinating infrastructure requirements to support test objectives
    • Writing test procedures and developing test plans, configuring systems to accomplish testing, and drafting test reports and performance metrics
    • Developing and executing systems level tests for commercial 4G/5G Long Term Evolution (LTE) systems.
    • Experience in developing and executing systems level tests for Navy electromagnetic spectrum software
  • US Citizenship is required
  • A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment
