Job Description

Alion is seeking a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and motivated technical learning content developer to support our Department of Defense customers. The applicant will be a part of a team that creates content for interactive courseware for our DoD customer.

The applicant will require strong writing skills and must be a self-starter with great initiative and ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Work requires developer to be a team-player who interacts daily with senior ISDs, SMEs, and web developers to deliver quality products.

Duties will be under the general direction of the project and program manager and within the scope of the work derived from a contract with a government customer.

Duties: The developer will perform a wide range of tasks to support the development of software and security training solutions, including:
  • Create content for a variety of training delivery channels (instructor-led, computer-based training courses, virtual web-based programs, blended solutions, job aids, etc.)
  • Develop content for job aids, outlines, PowerPoints, and storyboards.
  • Write and revise training materials including job aids, configuration instructions, ILT/vILT documents, and online course documents.
  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
  • Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
  • Manage multiple projects at any one time.
  • Review and/or copyedit content.
  • Participating in the daily team stand-up calls.
  • Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Adult Education, Technical Communication, Technical Writing, English, or related discipline with at least two years of professional experience.
  • Experience creating training content and/or documentation for a wide and diverse audience.
  • Excellent writing and proof-reading skills.
  • Excellent copy-editing skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Must be US citizen.


Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with ADDIE process.
  • Experience working with government customers.
  • Experience writing/creating documentation for government customers.

  • Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong team player with the ability to both collaborate and to take initiative and work well independently
  • Superior attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

Clearance:
  • Must be eligible and willing to submit for a secret clearance
