HII -Technical Solutions Division (TSD) is currently seeking a Senior Policy/Strategy Planner to work onsite at USCENTCOM, Tampa, FL.

HII - TSD provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Individual will support the USCENTCOM J5 Strategy, Plans, and Policy Directorate as a Senior policy planner/analyst in the J5 Policy and Strategy Division.
  • Possesses strong writing and briefing skills, and is adept at developing senior leader memorandums and briefings.
  • Understands the national security decision making process, and is able to translate national-level policies, strategies, and plans into CCMD strategic and operational level guidance.
  • Understands how a geographic combatant command headquarters interacts with its subordinate commands, the U.S. Interagency, U.S. Allies, and partner nations in the command's area of responsibility (AOR).
  • Understands how a CCMD J5 interacts with other command directorates.
  • Integrates U.S. and international interagency actions into CCMD efforts toward the attainment of the Commander´s Theater Strategy and campaign plan objectives.
  • Supports the development of comprehensive plans to shape the security environment within the AOR in support of the Combatant Commander's theater security cooperation activities in order to promote democracy, stability, and collective approaches to regional security.
  • Provides policy and strategy subject matter expertise and AOR insight on all military and political aspects for the region.
  • Provides monthly progress reports which detail progress and/or issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD and experience as a senior-level professional on a multi-disciplinary team is required.
  • Applicant must possess operational experience, working knowledge of joint operation staff functions, and be familiar with Joint training and exercise planning, Service capabilities, and joint operations.
  • First-hand knowledge/experience with DoD/CCMD plans and operations required.
  • Applicant must have experience assigned to or working at the CCMD headquarters level in operations and plans, and experience in DoD/JTF operations and planning.
  • Must have the ability to work independently in formulating detailed, long-range plans, develop information and decision papers, and brief senior leaders in areas of subject matter expertise.
  • All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
  • Clearance- Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI


Preferred Requirements

  • 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field or discipline
  • At least 5 years at the active duty O4, or above, level preferred.
  • Command and Staff College graduate preferred.
  • Experience in/with CENTCOM AOR preferred.
  • Understanding of U.S. Special Operations and tasking's is desired.
  • Understanding of/experience in a joint service environment is desired.


Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
