Job Description

Alion Science and Technology is seeking a Project Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams in the reverse engineering of foreign weapon systems in support to the United States Intelligence Community. The Project Engineer will be supporting the Foreign Materiel Exploitation (FME) Squadron of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). The mission objective is to help U.S. warfighters maintain their competitive edge by enabling the execution of timely exploitation of foreign aerospace and electronic systems for FME's Global Exploitation Intelligence Group. Requirements
  • As a Project Engineer you should have a solid engineering background with specific strengths in systems engineering, communication, technical leadership, and report writing.
  • You will provide leadership in the exploitation of foreign weapon systems such as aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, aerodynamic weapons, space systems, ballistic missiles, and associated subsystems to establish their design, performance capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities.
  • In this position you must be able to formulate engineering strategies, prioritize activities, manage personnel, and communicate with external customers and organizations.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required in an Engineering discipline - Engineering Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of related engineering experience
  • Strong experience in at least one of the following areas: electrical engineering, RF engineering, computer engineering
  • Proven experience of technical leadership of small engineering teams
  • Ability to develop test plans, analyze test data, write technical reports, and give technical presentations
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment – able to multitask and balance competing priorities
  • Proven problem solving and planning skills
  • Excellent communicator, a good listener and able to make decisions, figure out problems, and present solutions to leadership
  • Prior military or defense industry experience a bonus
  • Bachelor's degree required in an Engineering discipline - Engineering Master's degree preferred
  • Some travel required (

Candidates must hold an active DoD Secret clearance and be eligible for a Top Secret/SCI Clearance and additional clearances commensurate to their involvement with the USG
